Chevrolet volt hybrid car

The Chevrolet Volt is a plug-in hybrid concept car created by General Motors. However, the company has avoided the use of the term "hybrid," preferring to call it an electric vehicle with a "range extender" due to its design. The vehicle is designed to run purely on electricity from on-board batteries for up to 40 miles (64 km) —which is a large enough distance to cover the daily commutes of most Americans, which is around 25 miles (40 km). With use of a small internal combustion engine hooked to a generator to resupply the batteries, the vehicle's range is potentially increased to 640 miles (1,030 km) on the highway. General Motors Corp. had originally planned to build 60,000 of its Volt electric cars for their inaugural year, however have now scaled back production to 10,000 units.

The Volt concept vehicle was officially unveiled at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) on January 7, 2007 in Detroit, Michigan. An updated version was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2007 in Shanghai, China. At the time of unveiling, the Volt project had been in existence for less than a year. The Volt was targeted to cost around $20K to 30K, but Bob Lutz has indicated that $30-40K is more likely. As of April 2008 Lutz said that the realistic unsubsidised cost has risen to $48k.

Porsche Boxster is a mid-engined roadster built by Porsche. The Boxster is Porsche's first vehicle designed by Raymond Barth from the beginning as a roadster; all previous Porsche convertibles were based on hardtop coupes.

The first-generation Boxster (the 986) was introduced in late 1996 as a 1997 model; it was powered by a 2.5 litre flat six-cylinder engine. In 2000, the new Boxster S variant was introduced with a larger 3.2 litre motor, and the base model received a more powerful 2.7 litre engine. In 2003, styling and engine output was upgraded on both variants.

BMW CS Concept car wallpaper

The BMW CS Concept was a concept car produced by BMW in 2007. It is a fastback sedan that features many new innovations for BMW, such as door handles that only come out when sensors detect motion. Unconfirmed rumors suggest this concept may see production in the form of the new BMW 8 Series. Unlike the previous 8 Series, which was a coupe, the CS would be a four-door with coupe styling, similar to the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. With dimensions slightly bigger than the E65 7-series,[1][2] its competition is expected to be slightly more upmarket than the previous 8 series, and will include the Porsche Panamera, Aston Martin Rapide, and the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class.
